However, she simply never grew as a character. Nothing ever stuck with her and nothing ever changed who she was. It took the writers two whole seasons to do with Clara what they can usually accomplish in two episodes with anyone else.
Doctor Who: who is Clara?
An act of senseless violence had destroyed her inside. She felt gutted. Worse still, everyone around her told her that nothing could be done about it. Within the bounds of the law, there could be no remedy, no solace. No justice. This guy could fix it.
“Beat that for a date!” The Doctor arrived to take Clara away because he had “a whole day worked out” but she’s leaving for a date with Danny.
But thanks to the vagaries of writing, characterization, performance, and chemistry, not all companions are created equal; some favorites go on to rival even the Doctor in terms of popularity, while others can range from blandly likable to actively annoying. However, it never felt like the writers truly committed to the idea of Nardole as a companion as much as they did to him as a season-long source of comic relief.
Actress: Mandip Gill Companion to: 13 Introduced as a young police officer who wants to take on larger assignments but is stuck responding to petty calls, Yaz is caring and responsible and committed to justice. Ultimately, with her smarts and her bravery and her sense of justice and compassion, Yaz most recalls Martha, but has a lot less to do. Sure, plenty of others have saved the universe, but how many have done so with the same degree of maturity and practicality as Ms.

November 23, The Daleks, un-anthropomorphic antagonists, feel nothing but it. There is also a frequent, terrible absence of any emotion at all. Cybermen — humans that have been shredded up, molded into metal, and forget who they used to be — feel nothing for anyone. Doctor Who is big on love. In almost every episode, characters make choices because of love, for love. And perhaps the biggest lover of them all is The Doctor himself, lover of a lot of loves.

To borrow an agricultural phrase this episode is an attempt to shovel ten pounds of you-know-what into a five-pound bag. The first two incarnations, Oswin Oswald and Clara Oswin Oswald, each die during the episode in which they appear. The third incarnation becomes the Doctor’s.
They travelled together as flirty friends in the days when the Doctor was fresh-faced, floppy-haired and full of sparkling youthful exuberance and cheeky good humour. That was then. Now, Clara Oswin Oswald is an extra ordinary human being with a job, a boyfriend and a life, who still travels from time to time with a new version of the Doctor: a hyperactive, morally-ambiguous, craggy-faced old git with a tongue almost as sharp as his taste in jackets. Their relationship, as Ozzy Oswin Osborne might say, is going through changes.
The Doctor lies. The Doctor and Clara have arranged a final hurrah to close the door on their peripatetic career, but trying to schedule a breakup is an exercise in futility. Certainly, the upheaval of a murder mystery on a luxury space train with an emotionally-vacillating computer is hardly the place to say goodbye to the good times. Danny Pink has encouraged Clara to stay with the Doctor.
Her enthusiasm seems renewed by the time their intergalactic rail trip comes to an end. Yet the Time Lord has not noticeably mellowed — his wild-eyed enthusiasm is as brusque as ever — and Clara is hardly going to passively-aggressively demur, Peri-like, to his arrogant superiority. While a physically ordinary human woman from the 21st century , Clara chose to enter the Doctor’s timeline in his tomb on Trenzalore in order to try to reverse the damage done to his timeline by the Great Intelligence.
This caused the time winds to shatter her into millions of what River Song referred to as “echoes” or “splinters” that were dispersed throughout his personal timeline. These echoes corrected the damage caused by the Great Intelligence but were not the original Clara. She was trapped in the Doctor’s timeline but rescued shortly thereafter.
